Beschreibung: This lecture course (which should be attended together with the “Concepts-and-Interpretations” course) is designed for second-semester BA students who prepare for the Modulabschlussprüfung (B1). It intends to offer a historical survey of literatures and cultures in the English-speaking world and to provide an introduction to interpreting texts from a historical point of view. Texts to be discussed will cover the time from the 16th century to the present, as well as Britain, Ireland, the U. S., India, Canada and Australia.
