Beschreibung: Note that this is an online seminar that requires visibility and active participation.
This seminar explores the many facets of the relationship between digital media and American literature and culture. We examine the ways in which American literature and culture has represented digital media uses as well as employed digital media in its own processes of mediatization. Over the course of the semester, students enhance their close reading skills and ability to conduct critical textual analyses. They further acquire tools to analyze digital media and multimedia.
Note that students are expected to closely read and understand complex theoretical texts. All required readings and viewings will be announced in class.
