Beschreibung: This Schreibwerkstatt workshop will address challenges of academic writing that stem from insecurities about appropriate use of vocabulary. We will cover resources and strategies that can be helpful to improve use of adequate words and phrases when writing assignments, both at home and in exam situations. It may also be of interest to students who are currently studying for a standardized language test, including the achievement test.
Some questions we will try to answer in this workshop are:
• What is academic vocabulary?
• Where do I find relevant words and phrases?
• What resources can help me when I am writing at home?
• How can I boost my productive vocabulary skills?
