Course Description:
The recipe for the five live sessions of this compact course in creative writing is one-part theory, four
parts writing, two parts sharing, and two parts response. Cuisines include journaling, fiction, poetry,
slice-of-life, and stream-of-consciousness. Prompts, point-of-view shifts, collaboration, templates,
character profiles, dialogue, wordplay, line breaks and sensory detail number among the techniques to try
and seasons to taste. As partakers of this course are equipped with creative license, language accuracy
feedback for writing will only be given in the live sessions upon request and in cases when the reader is
(not meant to be) unclear about the writer's message. Provided that 80% of the class days are fully
attended, participants are also welcome to take this class purely for personal fulfillment and/or ideas for
teaching creative writing in their future professional lives
