Beschreibung: This lecture series covers a wide variety of topics featuring researchers that do usually teach in Osnabrück. The goal is to provide new perspectives on American Studies and to give students an idea of the kinds of issues that the field engages.

In general, each of the five sessions will consist of a 60–70 minutes lecture and the remaining time will be left for your questions. Thus, we very much expect you to make good use of the remaining time and ask questions or comment on the lecture in the Q&A. Please come prepared!
The lecture series can be taken as part of the Freier Wahlbereich for 2 credit points. In order to receive these credit points, you need to be present at all lectures (an attendance list will be circulated during the sessions) and answer a few questions about each lecture within two weeks. The questions will be posted on Stud.IP's Vips section and should also be answered in Stud.IP, not via mail. The questions aim at engaging you with the lecture's topic more thoroughly by asking you about its main ideas and arguments. There is no need to write a proper essay, but you should answer the questions in full sentences.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the lectures! If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Irina Brittner or Jens Bonk-Wiltfang.
