Beschreibung: Julian Barnes (1946) is a prominent English author. His satirical novel <England, England< (1998) was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1998.
The novel explores the idea of replicating England in a theme park on the Isle of Wight. Such a theme park needs to contain England´s best known literary, historical and legendary figures, historical buildings and other icons of <Englishness<.

We will dedicate one session each week to the intensive study of one chapter (average 25 pages) .
At the end of the term you should be familiar with essential facts about English geography, history, historical and legendary figures, literature, architecture and with Sir Jack Pitman´s megalomania and his perverse predilections.
