Beschreibung: Flora Annie Steel is one of the greatest Anglo-Indian novelists. Her books show a deep interest in Indian cultures, both Hindu and Muslim, as well as in Indian history and what it can teach to her English readers.
We are going to read:
The Potter’s Thumb (1894)
On the Face of the Waterrs (1896)
The Prince of Dreamers (1908)
Please copy the books from the master-copies left at Copy Shop Dialog, Süsterstr. 29 (from 6 July 2016). Credit requirements include regular attendance and an oral report. Please register for the course in one of my office hours (StudIP registration is not sufficient); anyone registering in person until 20 October 2016 will get a place in the course, irrespective of StudIP. And please make sure you have read the books by the beginning of the semester (there will be a short test on plots and characters).
