Content:
Humans have been telling multimedial stories since imagination exists, and thus defined, explained, and shaped reality. In the same way, art has always been affected by technology as an opportunity for experimenting and developing new tools. While the active participation of an audience isn't a new idea either, storytelling has taken on new forms of co-creating and interaction over the last years, which include and extend into virtual realities and the ever-louder call for 'making real'.

With increasing social and environmental challenges facing the current and coming generations, innovative and participatory forms of storytelling have become even bigger assets in the fabrication of possible new realities, thus cross-pollinating different genres and fields, from biomimicry to museality.

In the frame of the seminar, we investigate various forms of the telling and making of reality by artists, scientists, writers, tinkerers, players, designers, and more. The participants will be encouraged to investigate new perspectives, and find their own innovative ways of making reality.

Expectations
The interdisciplinary seminar is open to all students willing to engage in lively discussions and (artistic) research activities. A reading list will be provided before the seminar, the participants are expected to read the core texts and prepare the seminar through individual research tasks communicated in advance. Participation in all sessions is mandatory.
