Beschreibung: Focus of Seminar.
The focus will be on:
• Information on the author of the text under discussion.
• Consideration of the author´s biography and of events before and during the author´s lifetime, which may have found their way into the text.
• Definition and implications of the genre of the text: characteristics of a novel; special features of a short story.
• The geography and history of the location in which the text is set (if the location is not fictitious). That will be the invitation to look up places and to explore their history.
