Beschreibung: Have you understood what you have read? And can you explain why? Stylistics might be able to help. Stylistics is an academic discipline which seeks to identify what literary and linguistic phenomena are present in literary works, and therefore to be able to differentiate between literary and non-literary texts. This course will consolidate your knowledge of literary and linguistic terminology, adding an overview of the basic terminology of the most frequently-used rhetorical effects in both literary and non-literary texts. By enabling students to present and write about works of literature and other texts, this course seeks to provide students with a solid grasp of textual analysis and to reinforce students' reading comprehension abilities.
