Beschreibung: This IN-PERSON lecture course presents an introductory and historical overview of the literatures and cultures in the Anglo-American world and serves to introduce students to a historically contextualized examination of English and American literatures. Even as this introductory survey presents an epochal outline from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries of initially British and then Anglo-American literatures, it focuses in particular on the developments within the history of American literature and culture from the late eighteenth to the early twentieth century.
This lecture course has been designed primarily for second‐semester bachelor’s students. It is part of the ANG-B1 module and should be taken in combination with ONE of the courses on “Concepts and Interpretations” OFFERED BY ME. Your performance in both the courses will be assessed via a combined exam, tentatively scheduled on Thursday, 07.07.2022. I will be delivering my lectures IN-PERSON, beginning on Thursday, 07.04.2022, at 16:15.
