Beschreibung: This course gives an overview of different empirical methods used in linguistics with a focus on corpus linguistics. It aims at introducing students to reading and writing academic texts on different topics in linguistics.
Students will be required to read and prepare different academic texts on a regular basis. The use of electronic devices (laptops or tablets) is strongly recommended in the course for corpus searches or the use of spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel or Libre Office Calc).
