Introduction to English Language Teaching (A)
Zeiten: Mi. 10:00 - 12:00 (wöchentlich)
Beschreibung: This course provides an overview of some of the most relevant topics for teaching English as a foreign language in schools. Individual sessions will be devoted to the role of the teacher, the language learner, teaching methods and learning theories, task-based language teaching, teaching grammar and vocabulary, listening and speaking, reading and writing skills, testing, feedback and correction, and the use of media and literary texts in the foreign language classroom.
Requirements: Regular attendance and active participation. Out-of-class background reading and/or tasks will be set each week. These are compulsory as they are an essential part of the course. The final graded assessment will take the form of an exam at the end of the semester.
