Beschreibung: This course examines aspects of the theory, practice, and cultural production of the so-called ‘second wave’ of feminism, which began in the late 1960s in the USA. A range of materials will be used to examine second-wave feminism and interrogate today’s received wisdom about it. Students learn what was distinctive about it and enhance their ability to conduct critical textual analyses (competence-oriented learning). They are required to
- carefully read primary and secondary texts and take notes before class
- actively participate in the discussion in class
- give a presentation [Studiennachweis] or write a term paper [Prüfungsleistung]
All primary and secondary literature will be announced in class.
